Upon arriving at Dublin Airport you will pick up your rental and head southwest to the beautiful city of Kilkenny. The first 2 days and nights of your trip will be spent at the 4-star Newpark Hotel, located on the edge of the city on 40 beautiful acres of parkland. From here you are free to explore the area and such local sites as the Rock of Cashel or perhaps stop by historic Gowran Park and place a bet on the races. If team sports are your fancy then check out the local Hurling team, one of the most successful in all of Ireland. There is also fishing and golf opportunities as well as a spa treatment at the hotel. Dining is easy with the gourmet elegance at Gulliver’s Restaurant or a light lunch at Scott Door Bar. And don’t forget afternoon tea, a highlight at the hotel.

On day 3 you will head a little bit further southwest to Cork and the Blarney Golf Resort. Another 4-star gem, the resort will be your home base for two days as you explore such local attractions as Blarney Castle, FOTA Wildlife Park and the Cork City Gaol. In the evenings enjoy a relaxed meal at the Lion’s Den Bistro or sample the AA-Rosette winning menu at Iniscarra Restaurant at the resort.

On day 5 you will head northeast to Killarney and the 4-star International Hotel. This great 4-star accommodation will be your home for 2 nights in this great city. From the International you will be able to visit such amazing sites as Ross Castle & Copper Mines, Muckross Abbey and the natural splendor of Torc Waterfall. By night sample the culinary delights of four restaurants located within the hotel, including high tea in The Library and more elegant fare in Hannigans or The Brewery.

On day 7 you will point your car northest and head to Limerick and the chic Absolute Hotel & Spa. This stunning 4-star hotel, which combines contemporary décor with old world service, is located in the Medieval Quarter along the Abbey River in the center of the city. From here you are within easy reach of King Johns Museum, the 11th Century St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Milk Market, a farmers market offering the best of artisanal and local fare. In the evenings after a Spa treatment (if you take one of the walking tours you will want to pamper yourself a little), you can enjoy local dining at one of the many Pubs in the area or have a relaxed, gourmet meal at the Absolute’s Bar & Grill.

Day 9 will find you heading east toward Dublin for the last 2 nights of your trip. The 4-star Citywest Hotel will be your hosts, situated on the edge of the city and just 20 minutes from the city-centre, you are perfectly positioned to explore all the capital city has to offer. Suggested spots to check out include the Dublin Zoo, the Guiness Storehouse (where you can learn about all the recipes that are enhanced by Guiness including chocolate mousse!) or Newgrange, a prehistoric cite that is over 5,000 years old (older than Stonehenge or the Great Pyramid). And as you are within easy reach of the city-centre you are spoiled for dining choices but you should not miss out on the Asian-Fusion elegance of Lemongrass or the casual gourmet offerings of Hibernian Bistro, both at the Citywest.

While on this amazing journey you will also go on a tour of the House of Waterford Crystal, viewing how they create their amazing art and having a chance to make a purchase or two at the source!
