Combine views of dramatic cliffs and unbelievably beautiful countryside with play on the legendary courses of western Ireland. Your home base is the 5-star Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort, voted the Number 1 Golf Resort in Ireland by readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine. The parkland course here is acclaimed as Robert Trent Jones, Sr.'s last great creation. Water challenges include the 14-acre lake that anchors the first nine holes and the River Maigue, one of Ireland's best trout rivers, which meanders through the entire course.
But those aren't the only challenges you'll encounter on this first-class golf adventure. Your package also includes play in County Kerry at the iconic Ballybunion Old Course, ranked 17th among the Top 100 courses by Golf Magazine, where tee off on the first hole is past an ancient cemetery. Play too on sweeping shoreline at the Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed Ballybunion Cashen Course, where the higher sand dunes and deeper valleys make it perhaps even more brutal than its older sibling. In County Clare, your skills will also be tested at the historic Lahinch Golf Club, just a few minutes from the Cliffs of Mohr. Alister MacKenzie of Augusta National fame and Tom Morris from St. Andrews both had a hand in the original 1800s design, and play at Lahinch includes two crazy holes known as the Klondike and the Dell.
